Question 1

How fast do you respond?

Accepted Answer

I will get back to you as soon as I can. Most site visits are scheduled within 48 hours.

Question 2

Are you licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I'm a licensed and insured general contractor in the State of Georgia, OSHA certified, and a journeyman plasterer. I carry liability and workers' coverage, and certificates are available on request before work begins.

Question 3

Who will actually be working in my home?

Accepted Answer

You'll be dealing directly with me. I'm the point of contact for the project, from the initial conversation through the work itself and the final walkthrough. When a project requires a specialized trade, I coordinate that work and remain responsible for keeping the project organized and communicating with you.

Question 4

Do you take small jobs?

Accepted Answer

I do, when they're a good fit. Home repairs, deck repairs, remodeling projects, drywall and plaster repair, interior wall and ceiling restoration, interior improvements and exterior repairs are all a real part of my schedule — not an afterthought. If a job falls outside what I take on, I'll let you know rather than waste your time.

Question 5

Why does your work sometimes cost more than hiring a handyman?

Accepted Answer

Because I'm not pricing the job around doing the minimum needed to get it finished. I'm pricing it around doing the work correctly, safely and with the preparation the finished result requires. That can mean moving furniture and belongings out of the work area, protecting floors and surrounding surfaces, sealing off areas when dust or debris is involved, removing old nails or damaged material instead of simply working around them, properly preparing surfaces, and keeping the jobsite organized and clean throughout the project. Preparation matters. Whether I'm repairing a wall, completing plaster work, painting as part of a repair, remodeling a space or making a home improvement, the quality of what you see at the end depends heavily on what happens before the finish work begins. I'm a licensed and insured general contractor and a journeyman plasterer, and I bring that level of care and accountability to smaller projects too. I may not always be the least expensive option, but the price reflects the preparation, safety, workmanship, communication and attention to detail that go into completing the job properly.

Question 6

How do estimates work?

Accepted Answer

I walk the project with you, look at the existing conditions, talk through the project scope and your desired outcome, review materials or options, and then send a detailed scope with clear pricing. No pressure, and no vague ballpark numbers that change once work starts.

Question 7

Will I get the scope and price in writing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Before work begins, the agreed scope and pricing are documented in writing so you know what's included. If the scope changes after the project starts, I discuss the change with you before any additional work is performed.

Question 8

How long will my project take?

Accepted Answer

For a smaller, straightforward remodel involving one or two rooms, a typical timeline is approximately 6–10 weeks from demolition through completion. Timing can vary depending on materials, inspections, existing conditions and any changes made during the project.

Question 9

Do you handle permits?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When a project requires permitting or inspections, I handle the permitting process and coordinate the required inspections as part of the project. Requirements vary based on the type of work and the jurisdiction, so I determine what applies to your specific project before work begins.

Question 10

How do you protect my home while you're working?

Accepted Answer

I treat preparation as part of the job, not as an afterthought. Depending on the project, that may mean moving furniture or belongings out of the work area, protecting floors and surrounding surfaces, covering or sealing areas where dust and debris could travel, removing hardware or old materials properly, and keeping tools and materials organized while the work is underway. I also clean up as the project progresses rather than waiting until the very end. The goal is to protect the parts of your home I'm not working on and leave the finished space looking finished — not like a construction site.

Question 11

Do I need to be home while you're working?

Accepted Answer

No.

Question 12

What should I do before the project starts?

Accepted Answer

Before work starts, I'll let you know if anything needs to be moved or prepared in advance. In general, it's helpful to secure valuables and fragile items, make a plan for pets, make sure I have the necessary access to the work area, and let me know about alarms, parking restrictions, HOA requirements or anything else that could affect the job. I handle the appropriate work-area preparation myself as part of my process.

Question 13

What happens if you find something unexpected after the work starts?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes hidden conditions only become visible once a project is opened up — things like water damage, deterioration, previous repairs or structural issues that couldn't reasonably be seen beforehand. If I find something that changes the scope of the work, I stop at the appropriate point, explain what I found, discuss the options with you and address any change in cost or timing before proceeding.

Question 14

How are changes or additional work handled?

Accepted Answer

If you decide to add or change something after the project begins, I'll talk through how that affects the scope, price and schedule before the additional work is performed. That keeps both of us clear on what has changed and avoids surprises at the end of the project.

Question 15

Can you work on older homes or match existing wall textures and finishes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. My plaster background is especially useful when matching existing finishes. I take care to match drywall textures, plaster, wall and ceiling finishes, and woodwork or trim as closely as possible so repairs blend naturally with the surrounding area. Existing materials and previous repairs can vary from home to home, so I evaluate the area first and choose the repair method that will provide the best finished result.

Question 16

What does the 1-Year Workmanship Warranty cover?

Accepted Answer

My work is backed by a one-year workmanship warranty. If an issue related to my workmanship comes up during that period, contact me and I'll evaluate it and make it right when it falls within the warranty coverage. The warranty covers my workmanship; it doesn't cover normal wear and tear, owner damage, or issues with materials or home systems outside the scope of the work I completed.

Question 17

What happens when the project is finished?

Accepted Answer

I want you to understand what was completed and have the chance to point out anything you want me to look at before the project is considered finished. The one-year workmanship warranty then provides an additional layer of accountability after the job is done.
